#9 MICHAEL MOLS
MATCH WORN VS PSV EINDHOVEN
PHILIPS STADION, 28th SEPTEMBER 1999
Strangely Michael Mols wore a replica specification shirt in this match, although this did happen on other occasions around this period. One of the main differences to the player version was a Nike size label stitched onto the bottom left on the front of the shirt. This can be clearly seen on match footage as shirt comes out of his shorts on occasion.
Jorg Albertz’s late strike earned Rangers a famous Champions League away win, with the game finishing 1-0. Mols swapped his shirt with a PSV forward at the end of the game, and it was sourced directly from world’s biggest dealer who had obtained that shirt and others from said player’s collection, thus coming with impeccable provenance.
