1970s

A decade where Scotland went to two World Cups.  A decade where branding became more prominent in football kits, and the famous Umbro diamond featured along the sleeves of possibly the most iconic Scotland shirt of all-time,  A decade where Ally McLeod had a nation believe Scotland were destined to become World Champions!

1980s

A decade where Scotland qualified for three World Cups.  A decade where replica kits really started to take off, with Umbro, a market leader, producing some top stuff for Scotland.  A decade that saw the last true world class talent in a Scotland shirt, in the shape of players like Kenny Dalglish and Graeme Souness.

1990s

A decade that saw Scotland appear in two World Cups and two European Championships.  A decade where football kit manufacturers ran wild with their designs, with Umbro certainly producing some ‘original’ designs for Scotland, particularly when it came to away kits.  A decade that ended with Scotland’s last win at Wembley.

2000s

A decade where Scotland qualified for no major tournaments, with the Berti Vogts era possibly the worst Scotland has ever witnessed.  A decade where Fila, who replaced Umbro, and then Diadora would manufacture Scotland’s National Team kit.  A decade where Scotland won the Kirin Cup, their first silverware in over 20 years.

2010s

A decade where Scotland’s recent pitiful qualifying record for major finals continued.  A decade where through Adidas manufacturing their kits, Scotland at least looked the part on the pitch, when in their home strip at least!  A decade where Alex McLeish, would return for a second term as coach of the National Team.
